It is intended to be a multi-person blog; that is, while I have initiated it, I expect that others may like to contribute their own, or other, important Essays, Notes, Links that bear on these topics. In general, and because of copyright problems, we would prefer for you to send us Links to outside documents; along with a brief (100-200 word) extract. Your own original essays are, of course, warmly invited.

To add your own Comment to an existing Blog entry, you can enter it directly: all you have to possess is a Google User ID and password. To add a Note or an Essay, just drop me a line and ask for the (very simple) way to do it by using just e-mail. Someone at this end would add the Labels so that readers can go directly to your Note or Essay.

I warmly invite your criticisms, suggestions, collaboration in making this Blog a useful tool for the decision-makers in our nation. If, in the months to come, we are able to converge on some issues on any of the major topics (as above) , we would be sure to encapsulate that agreement into a White Paper which we would circulate for the Powers That Be, and in other ways, attempt to get a broader audience for these opinions.

Indian land "seriously degraded"
At least 45% of Indian land is environmentally "degraded", air pollution is rising and flora and fauna is diminishing, according to a report.
